Weekend in Albuquerque

Welcome to my second blog post! I hope you enjoy it as much as I will have writing and creating it!

I want to start this blog post with saying that I want to encourage you! Whomever you may be, I want to encourage or pray for you or just talk to you! Whether you may be another creative or photographer that needs to just vent or discuss where you are at in your life or with your art! I’m not just here to talk about myself, I want to spark conversation!

This past weekend I was able to go back to Albuquerque from Las Cruces and man oh man did a lot of stuff happen. I traveled up on Thursday afternoon with a photoshoot planned for sunset in the Bosque. The weather hadn’t been the greatest but the rain stopped for just the perfect amount of time for the most adorable family session! This was also my first family session and I am so extremely proud of them! This is my boss’, from glorieta, family and they are literally family goals. After the photoshoot, I had the opportunity to talk with them at Flying Star. I felt encouraged to be back with my work family from the summer and reflect on my time back at school.

On Friday I met at a hip coffee shop and met with a friend from high school and we were able to catch up on our lives over the past year! It’s crazy to think that I am almost done with college and that I am in such a good place compared to high school and I never thought I would get to that point! The rest of the day I had the chance to spend time with my family and get my life organized.

On Saturday I went to the Balloon Fiesta and although I missed some of the balloons, I was still able to get some cool shots! It was super nice to be back home and experience such an incredible event. It’s a type of event that you can go to every year and experience it for the first time every time. I realized that I have this newfound confidence in my ability and it helped me to enjoy taking pictures rather than be nervous over not getting any shots. After the Balloon Fiesta, my car was having some troubles which made me frustrated cause I ALWAYS have car troubles but I focused on where God was in all of it and how God still provided even though it was a stressful situation. (My car is fine now, it was just overheating and my coolant was leaking and… STRESS). That afternoon, my family and I went up to the Jemez mountains to Battleship rock to take some family pictures. They didn’t necessarily turn out because we didn’t have a lot of time but I was grateful for the opportunity to be surrounded by the beauty that is the Jemez, engulfed by trees but also massive cliffs! That night I was able to catch up with a really good friend and I felt encouraged. It’s super cool to feel and know that God is working in me, my life and my friend’s lives.

On Sunday, my two friends from high school woke up early to take some cute sunrise pictures in the Sandia mountains! I was hoping to get some pretty landscapes with the turning trees but the leaves had already turned but go check out Joel and Kelsey's cute pictures in my couples section. After that I spent some time walking around the Bosque with my sisters (Ruby, 16 and Grace 10). I usually don’t have intentional time with my sisters when I come to visit so it was super nice to just be with them.

Now here I am back in Las Cruces, but I’m reflecting back on this weekend and overwhelmed with gratitude. I am so thankful that my friends and family support my photography no matter where it may be! Sure, I don’t have a lot of clients or people asking for me to take their photos but I know that God is using me!

*I WILL BE MAKING SHORT VIDEOS OF MY WEEKEND THROUGHOUT THIS WEEK*
