Invest in your wedding!

Let’s get serious and I might hurt some feelings but I want to educate and push you! So for the past couple of months I have received a lot of inquiries for weddings, which I am NOT complaining about. I have felt so honored and so blessed! As soon as those inquiries hit my email, I am SO excited and already praying for those couples! I reply right away with excitement, availability and encouragement. I email my pricing guide and then…

S I L E N C E .

I don’t get a response for days, weeks or months even. I follow up with emails, texts, messages! And then the dreaded message hits, “We love your work and really wanted to work with you, but have chosen another photographer that fits our price range better”. Let’s be real, those messages are sad because I want to work with those couples but I love them because that means that they are one step closer in their wedding planning journey!! But I NEED those messages WAY faster than I have been getting them.

But it got me to thinking. Maybe these couples are trying to figure out their budget and getting their photographer, and maybe they are scared to tell me I am over their budget. Don’t be scared to tell me! I need to know to grow my business! But it also made me encouraged to educate future couples and potential clients!

INVEST IN YOUR WEDDING!

I know I have said a lot in the past to know your budget when you are wedding planning but when you plan your budget, the most expensive thing should be your photography and videography because that is what is going to last F O R E V E R. Take some money out of your catering, guest gifts, venue budget and put it towards photography! If there is a photographer that you are wanting, GET IT! Make sure you have the room in your budget to get that photographer! Look at your photographers website FIRST to make sure it is in your price range and then reach out for further details.

I know how much wedding planning can be and it adds up fast but invest in photography and feel confident in that alone! That should be the one thing in your wedding that you feel 100% confident in that if the venue went to crap, your food was cold, or everyone got sick, you would know that your photos would turn out absolutely perfect! You only get one wedding so make it count and last forever!

But let this blog be a reminder to be efficient with your inquiries with wedding vendors! We try to plan out our calendars as fast as possible and the longer it takes for you to fully book us, the harder it is for us to do our jobs. If your vendor has written up a contract with you, we expect you to sign that contract and continue communication. CHECK YOUR EMAILS AND be kind to vendors p l e a s e.
